Open to Members of Women Lawyers of Alameda County or Queen’s Bench only
Join Venus Johnson, Contra Costa County Assistant District Attorney, in the Piedmont home of Nicole Lopez for a unique, intimate conversation with the women of Women Lawyers of Alameda County and Queen’s Bench.
Prior to becoming the Contra Costa County Assistant District Attorney for DA Diana Becton, Ms. Johnson was the City of Oakland Director of Public Safety (appointed by Mayor Libby Schaaf), a California Associate Attorney General (for California Attorney General Kamala Harris), and an Alameda County Deputy District Attorney (for DA Nancy O’Malley). Ms. Johnson will share experiences and insights from her career in discussion with attendees about attaining and excelling in positions of public leadership and influence.
The Queen’s Bench “Conversation Series” is a direct response to the present political and legal climate. The series is designed to cultivate reflection, connection, and clarity of thought amongst Queen’s Bench members who are concerned about the present attacks on women, minorities, the press, and the law. The design is purposefully inter-generational, and the series is a joint initiative of the Diversity Committee, Civic & Judicial Appointments Committee, and Public/Government Law Mentor Pod. Queen’s Bench partners with other women’s bar associations to bring these events to different parts of the Bay Area.
Registration fee: $10.00 (Registration is limited to 12 participants)
Location: Piedmont neighborhood of Oakland (address provided upon registration, close to Rockridge BART)
Wine, sparkling water, and heavy appetizers will be served.
