Judge Sung primarily seeks applicants with clinical or post-law school experience, as well as a demonstrated commitment to public interest work. At this time, Judge Sung is accepting applications from 3Ls and law school graduates. Importantly, Judge Sung does not have a minimum class rank threshold, nor does she require law journal or moot court participation. Judge Sung values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages qualified law students and attorneys from a wide range of backgrounds to apply.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, a total of three letters of recommendation or references (in any combination), and at least one unedited writing sample (preferably a legal memo or brief). Applicants should carefully review the position posting on OSCAR for writing sample requirements. Successful candidates must exhibit excellent research, analysis, and writing skills. Additionally, clerks must adhere to high standards of integrity; work cooperatively and professionally; and treat others with kindness and respect.
If you have a qualified student or lawyer in mind, please encourage them to apply through OSCAR by April 21, 2023. Applicants should refrain from sending physical application packets to chambers. Interviews will be conducted in early May 2023. Questions may be emailed to [email protected].
