Pursuant to the Organization’s Bylaws, the Women Lawyers of Alameda County Nominating Committee is developing the slate for the 2019 Board of Directors. Please join us in advancing women in the law through service on our Board. Anyone who has been a voting member of the organization for at least one year is eligible to hold office.

Directors

We anticipate filling several open Director positions for the term beginning January 1, 2019, so if you would like to be considered by the Committee, please submit a statement of interest and qualification of two paragraphs or less and your resume to [email protected], with the subject “2019 Board” by August 15, 2018.

Officers

If you would like to be considered by the Committee for the office of President, Vice-President, Secretary, or Treasurer, please submit a statement of interest and qualification of two paragraphs or less and your resume to [email protected], with the subject “2019 Officer” by August 15, 2018.

Alternative Nomination Procedure

Members may also directly nominate Officers and Directors by submitting to the WLAC Secretary on or before August 15, 2018, 5:00 pm, a written nomination signed by the nominee and not less than 5% of the current membership in good standing.  For purposes of this nomination cycle, submissions to the secretary may be scanned and emailed to [email protected] or mailed to: WLAC Secretary, PO Box 29362, Oakland, CA  94604.

Election

The Committee will publish the slate and hold the election at the annual meeting of the membership, during the Annual Judges’ Dinner on October 4, 2018, at Scott’s Seafood, Jack London Square, Oakland, CA. All candidates must be present at the meeting.
